On some of the electric skateboards, they come with an upgraded suspension system, usually the ones that are assembled in the USA. The German parts if used for the board are the best but are usually used in the most expensive boards. I have not seen any Chinese imports with German designed and produced parts.
A better suspension system helps take off the pressure of the knees and back when riding. Some boards are more flexible than others an have lots of cross grains so that the board has a little bit of pop and snap to it.
Also the grip of the shoes and type of shoe are important. Some shoes absorb more ballistic impact than others. The shoes I like best are the gum rubber type that have super high grip.
This is not just a regular tennis shoe
When looking at the suspension system, some have a lower center of gravity than other boards. Some wheels have better grip and are much stickier to the ground than others.
