I refuse to sell the electric skateboards that are choppy when the throttle is pulled. This is especially important when I race censored and non censored motors. Along with smooth response from the throttle from a better speed controller in the board, the components of the board and how good the wheels and trucks are, play a big part of smoothness. If someone doesn't know much about skateboards, many skate board enthusiasts or someone coming out of a skate store will usually be glad to help you. Ask them about the wheels and trucks and type of deck that comes standard on the electric skateboard you are thinking of buying. They will usually know different brand of wheels, etc. and give you their honest opinion.

The boards that are over 50 lbs usually have the smoothest ride over bumps and rocks that I go over. The boards that are 72 lbs like the E glide or over 80 lbs on a Gnar board are super smooth when going off road. That is when you appreciate the extra weight.

Bushings Warning: Some of the cheap import skateboars with high wattage ratings have some really crappy bushings. They are super hard to break them in and when I do it still doesn't turn smoothly. The trucks that go along with them are usually not good quality either so just having a better bushing is not the answer when the truck is crappy to start with.

The difference between the cheap and the really good bushings is the type of urethane they use. The one with the highest rebound is the most preferred and cost a lot more in stores. After turning, the bushings help the board become straight again.

The real cheap boards usually have some off brand bushings are are super stiff. These have power but the responsiveness of the trucks are very slow and not that responsive like it should be like the ones I like.
