Boosted Board Review
So I've had the Boosted Board for about a year now. I will just write what comes to my mind. First the battery after a year give the same power just like when it was new. Most of the boards I have after a year the battery that says it goes 20 miles on a charge only goes about 12 miles. Same thing with electric bikes (see freethebike.homestead.com)
The Boosted board goes 22 miles per hour. Anything over 20 miles per hour in some states is illegal so be aware of that. I strongly recommend the board be on level 3, never 4 for those that cannot handle this much power. The 4th level does drain the battery especially if you ant to blast off at accelerations. 7 miles then is really like 4 miles on this level. Most boards go 20 miles at about 10 mph so when they say 20 miles on a charge, this is not going at top speed which most people don't do. Its more like 12 miles.
The dual motor keeps this board much more strait than the single motor board. The acceleration of the board because the dual belts taking the load off so all the load is no one one motor makes board hit 22 miles per hour in just a few seconds. The dual belts also keeps you from having to change belts all the times since the load is split up. A 200 pound person would put 100 pounds of weight on each belt.
There is nothing wrong with teh single motor boards. The closest board to my Boosted board, not talking about a custom board that is over most peoples budget, is my 3000 watt board. It goes 20 mph and the torque is like the Boosted board on level 3. The Stealth metro board is the one I have. For peopel that want to go 20 miles instead of 7 miles like the Boosted but don't want the crazy Ferrari power of level 4, then this board might be for you. It does have its pros and cons over the dual motor boards but I will say 50% of the people choose longer distance over low milage high performance.
The Metro stealth board does not have a reverse like the boosted or even the Evolve board but the performance of the stealth is the closest thing to the Boosted. I have demo Metro and Boosted boards so people can feel the differences between them. Companies sent me boards for me to review and I am in a position that I can do the same for other people. I use my Boosted when I am only going about 5 miles somewhere. I use my metro when I am going a long distance.
I get subsidized pricing on demos so if anyone wants to try a board that I have, let me know. I usually have a dozen or so used boards in stock. I also have people in different states that will let you try their board. I have to pay them a commission so if you want the cheapest price, the best way is to try a demo and pay the 35 bucks to ship it back if you don't like it. You can keep the used one if you want it. This is the best way instead of relying on a sales person and trying them for a week or so yourself.
