Alway get extra belts, several gears and remotes if buying an import. If you can't get a replacement if the importer goes out of business it will be nearly impossible to get a remote.
Buying a battery is recommended to have on hand when the storage capacity only gets about 60% of what the new battery held when it was new.

Know every brand of component. If they can't give you a brand name of the wheels, bushings, the trucks, the board, then I assume its a generic import. And if I can't find a review on that brand and they don't have 100's of reviews, then Im not interested. So many people are importing no name components and putting them on their board motor set up. Its cool and not everyone is seeking the best wheels and best board. Some people can only afford a low price and don't want to go all out on their first board.

Always know the continuous power. Ask them. Not just the peak power. Always ask what they mean when they refer to the watts of their board. Usually its the peak watts.

Know how many times their battery can be charged. Find out the name of the lithium battery company and research that battery. Cheap ones after several months can start losing its capcity. On a full charge, you are only getting 60% of what the full capacity should be. Better batteries retain more oftheir original storage capacity. Knowing the C rating is also good. Very few companies list this. The higher the C rating the more expensive the battery usually is.

Know if you want a reverse on the motor. Some don't go in reverse and if its a heavy board, you can't just push the reverse button but you have to pick the board up. A board over 50 lbs gets tiring if you have to pick it up often to reverse it.

Know the MPC rating (miles per charge). Does it go 15 miles or does it go UP TO 15 miles. Up to 15 miles could mean it only goes 8 miles. Then they try to sell me the upgraded battery. If going up hills and breaking a lot, most that say 15 miles are far further the UP TO.
