Some electric skate boards brake on a dime and others brake in 20 to 40 feet. If the brake is too strong it can throw you off. When going down a hill 20mph and you break suddenly you can fall so having a 40 foot window for breaking is the most preferred by people using these. I infuse mine and I can really feel it when breaking and I try not to go in reverse because it is not good to do that on mine. I always keep one board that is infused and one that isn't. See my videos on what happens when an infused board is turned upside down and someone stands next to it. Watch what total strangers say when the wheels are going in reverse versus clockwise. Night and day difference, especially if you water near it.

(note: I have some single versions of the infusions. Since many of the manufactures loaned me (with deposit) their line of skateboards and trusted me, I will send one to anyone who calls me from 8am to 9am on Sunday mornings, Eastern Time. I will send 5 out to the first 5 people who call me as long as I am offering this here on this page.

So, having great breaks instead of good is only good if you need them and you know how to balance your self when under strong breaks.

Also, breaking too much or too long or too hard will strain the belts. Many people wonder why their board doesn't go as fast as it did when it was new. Many companies use Gate belts (see my belt page) and they seem to last longer than most the other belts in the narrow belt category.

In order to know just the right breaking system, its good for me to know the average speed someone is going. If going down hill and trying to break the whole way down, I need to know that too. Some belts are better for this.

If going 20 miles per hour or 6 miles per hour and trying to break, it makes a difference. Its easier to balance when breaking from a slow ride than a fast ride and if not usually going for speed, a great instead of just good breaks is usually preferred.

Also, many of the breaks are now regenerative meaning that they recharge the batteries when they break.
